Walk, Hike, Bike and Family All Year Long!
Great adventures for everyone.
There’s a lot of opportunity for your children to learn about math, science, history and the environment at the seven Wake County Parks, Recreation and Open Spaces.
The Wake County Parks mission is to "acquire and maintain a system of natural areas, open spaces, park facilities, and historic sites that promote environmental and cultural stewardship as well as provide educational and leisure opportunities for all county citizens."
Each park includes a variety of activities from hiking, fishing, sailing and environmental education. Watch a waterwheel turn at Lake Wheeler on the last remaining gristmill in Wake County.
