Longer day for more play! The museum is open until 7pm every Thursday, and admission is only  $2 after 3pm. Twilight $2 Thursdays presented by Terminix.

Elementary School’s Out Camp – Spring Break

$50 per day for members; $56 per day for non-members

Preschool’s Out Camp – Spring Break

Island of Lemurs: Madagascar 3D Exclusively in IMAX at Marbles
Opens Friday, April 4
Island of Lemurs: Madagascar takes audiences on a spectacular journey to the remote and wondrous world of Madagascar. Lemurs arrived in Madagascar as castaways millions of years ago and evolved into hundreds of diverse species but are now highly endangered. Academy-Award winner Morgan Freeman narrates the IMAX 3D documentary Island of Lemurs: Madagascar, the incredible true story of nature's greatest explorers—lemurs. Captain America: The Winter Soldier 3D in IMAX at Marbles
Opens Friday, April 4
After the cataclysmic events in New York with The Avengers, Marvel’s “Captain America: The Winter Soldier” finds Steve Rogers, aka Captain America, living quietly in Washington, D.C. and trying to adjust to the modern world. But when a S.H.I.E.L.D. colleague comes under attack, Steve becomes embroiled in a web of intrigue that threatens to put the world at risk. Joining forces with the Black Widow, Captain America struggles to expose the ever-widening conspiracy while fighting off professional assassins sent to silence him at every turn. First Friday at Marbles—Statewide Star Party

The museum is open until 7pm for more play on First Friday! Check out the sun using a specially equipped telescope with special guest Steve Andrews. Investigate light, check out lunar science activities, test out your astronaut skills, create out of this world art, and pick up some Star Party giveaways! Statewide Star Party is part of the NC Science Festival.

Kid Critic Challenge—Island of Lemurs: Madagascar 3D

Calling all young movie buffs and aspiring writers! Marbles and WRAL.com Go Ask Mom invite you to a private kids’ “press” screening of Island of Lemurs 3D exclusively in IMAX at Marbles. After the movie, kids write a short review (150 words max) for a chance to be featured on WRAL.com Go Ask Mom and win prizes from Marbles and IMAX. Leapin’ Lemurs
Saturday, April 5 | 10am-12pm
Join Duke Lemur Center at Marbles and learn all about lemurs, the most endangered group of mammals on the planet. We’ll “raft” from Africa to Madagascar on scooters, build lemur habitats and test your lemur balance and agility! Saturday’s Island of Lemurs: Madagascar 3D showtimes are at 10am, 11am and 12pm. Leapin’ Lemurs is free with museum admission or your ticket stub to Island of Lemurs: Madagascar in IMAX at Marbles.
 
Bubble-ology
Saturday, April 5|1-3pm
Immerse yourself in the fun and science of bubbles with Dr. Ken Lyle and his team of bubbleologists from Duke University’s Chemistry Outreach Program. Make giant bubbles, stir up a cauldron of bubblicious potion and play around with how different bubble frames and solutions create different kinds of bubbles. Bubble-ology is free with museum admission and is part of the NC Science Festival.
 
Gadgets and Gizmos—Egg Drop with The Engineering Place
Sunday, April 6 | 1-3pm
Humpty Dumpty sat on a wall. Humpty Dumpty took a two-story fall. Come engineer a protective packaging to help an egg survive a drop with The Engineering Place, NCSU College of Engineering’s K-20 Outreach Program.
 
Toddlers Together—NEW Evening session!
Ages 13-30 months and a grown-up | 4-week series
April 10, 17, 24, May 1| 5:30-6:30pm

Green Energy Workshop—Green Gadgets

Explore one of the coolest, greenest ways to get around town—the ELF—and meet the entrepreneurs from Organic Transit who created it! Get inspired, and build your own green energy gadgets. Sponsored by Duke Energy. Green Gadgets is part of the NC Science Festival.
 
Spring Eats! with NCSU's Food Science Club
Sunday, April 13 | 1-3pm
Be a food scientist!  Dig into the chemistry of food and the science of sweet with guest star scientists from NCSU’s Food Science Club. Experiment with candy, test out tastes, and get the close up on food colors. Spring Eats! is part of the NC Science Festival.
 
Family Fun Night
Sunday, April 13 | 5:30-8pm
Join us for this after-hours event for kids with special needs that offers the opportunity to
experience Marbles in a calmer, quieter environment. Special guests from Carolina Youth Ballet will perform excerpts from the ballet “The Little Princess” and lead a movement workshop. Family Fun Night is free and exclusive for kids with special needs and their families. Sponsored by Kerr Cares for Kids Foundation.

Future vets and animal lovers! Play in one of your favorite exhibits in a whole new way! Learn alongside a real veterinarian in Pet Vet, join special guests for storytime with a therapy dog and explore careers in pet health at FutureVet®. In partnership with Banfield Pet Hospital.

NC Theatre: Little Mermaid at Marbles

Join special guests from NC Theatre for a sneak peek of Disney’s under the sea spectacular Little Mermaid. NC Theatre’s production of Little Mermaid hits the stage at Raleigh Memorial Auditorium July 29 – August 3, 2014.
