Dog-Eared Books is a locally owned used bookstore in Raleigh, NC and was founded on an equal love of dogs and books. This diamond in the rough is stocked with thousands of books, all sold for $1 each.  The outside may not look like much, but when you walk in the front door you’re greeted with a friendly smile, soothing music, and sometimes two happy pups.  After entering the store, you’ll notice the books are sorted into their different genres including, but not limited to sci-fi, cookbooks, travel, memoirs/biographies, young adult, classics, adult fiction, and a wide variety of kids books from picture books to chapter books. There is also a second room where you can fill a bag with books for $10.  Another amazing perk is that you can bring in your books from home and trade them in for store credit.

Did You Know? Local authors are hosted in the store on a weekly basis where they sign and sell their books and do live readings Spirit Days are hosted for local schools/homeschool groups where 15% of sales are given back to the school in the form of books You can volunteer with Dog-Eared Books during the week and will receive $10/hour in store credit (like us on Facebook for more information)

Things to Know Before You Come:

• All major credit cards and cash are accepted
• The store is located in a shared warehouse plaza with Craters & Freighters between the intersections Harrod Street and New Hope Church Road (same side of the road as Michael & Sons)
• There is a short flight of stairs leading up to the front door
• While shopping bags are provided, it is encouraged that you bring your own bags
• There are no public restrooms on site
• Come prepared for a treasure hunt!
