Wendell Community Park is located at 601 W 3rd St, Wendell, NC 27591. This park is enormous! With a lovely playground, large dog park, baseball fields, sand volleyball courts, and the Wendell Community Center on site, there is no shortage of fun for families here.
We were very impressed with the variety of playground equipment, with structures, slides and swings for all ages. The playground is brightly colored and very clean, with a wood chip surface. I would love to see some shade awnings added in the future, for those hot summer days, but otherwise the playground is one we really enjoy visiting! We also love knowing that there is a dog park/agility course for our pups and can't wait to bring them out sometime soon.

Across the parking lot from the park is the Wendell Community Center, which houses a gymnasium and special community programs. The community center offers open gym times every week, separated by age groups, which is a great way to stay active when it's too hot, cold, or rainy out! The center is also available to rent for special events.

The few times we've visited the playground and community center, it hasn't been very crowded and I really think this park is a hidden gem for our community! Check it out the next time you're looking for something fun to do with the kids!
