The City of Raleigh Museum is nestled in the heart of Downtown, on bustling Fayetteville Street.  Dedicated to preserving the history of the City of Raleigh, the museum houses both rotating and permanent exhibits to share with the public. The exhibits are always interactive and can be made fun for kids through a little creativity and extra parental engagement.

Hands On History Cart
Take a guess at how these antiquated items, once sold at Briggs Hardware, were used!

R3: Raleigh Then, Raleigh Now, Raleigh Next
Take a look at the past, present and future of Raleigh with a lovely display of artifacts, plaques, and posters.

“You Really Stuck it to Me Today” The Political Cartoons of Dwayne Powell
Although the political opinions and insight of this exhibit will go over most younger kids’ heads, one of our favorite activities at COR Museum is the opportunity to throw rules out the door and draw our own cartoons...right on the wall!

In addition to public hours, COR also offers school field trips, community programs and special events throughout the year. COR Museum may not be very big in size, but its passion for our city is huge. We always make an effort to stop by this museum for a bit when we’re exploring Downtown and encourage you to check it out too!
