Get Your Kids Offline and Moving at Warrior Tech

By Warrior Tech November 19, 2020

Are your kids acting out? Are your kids having trouble lifting their mood? Are your kids racking up way too much screen time? Experts agree that physical activity is vital to kid's mental and physical development.

And that is where we can help.

The sound of laughter is music to our ears. After a long six-month closure, our walls are reverberating with the high decibel of kiddos, reminding us that their happiness is priority #1.

And when that happiness comes from moving their bodies and being physically active, it's a double win! Health, both mental and physical is imperative in today's climate. And when your child can get both in a safe and encouraging environment, we call that success!

Warrior Tech is a Ninja Training Facility that bridges fun and fitness with the sport that gave the TV show American Ninja Warrior its fame! Here, we pride ourselves on offering a clean, open space to train. Our community values respect for one another's personal space and honors the wellbeing of every person who walks through our doors.

Our now too-commonly-used phrase, "It's just another obstacle!" aptly refers to life, especially 2020 in addition to the obstacles adorning Morrisville's 5,000 square foot warehouse and Raleigh's brand new 5000 square foot renovated space. This September, the owners of Warrior Tech OCR in the Research Triangle corridor opened their new doors in Raleigh amidst closures and school restructuring. But, yes, you guessed it, they put on their masks and published their website proclaiming, "It's just another obstacle!"

Because it is. And both locations are open, available and offering up options to train like Ninja Warriors!

From camp, to parties, to open gym, to classes, we are all about being a ninja! But rest assured, we do not expect you to already be one - we are here to show you the "how to's"! We focus on five distinct pillars within our programming - mobility, adaptability, fortitude, dexterity and coordination. Those fall under the arch of two main focuses of character and athleticism.

"If they learn anything from me, it's to be a good and kind human first and foremost." says Coach Justin Fitzgerald, Warrior Tech's Chief Kid Wrangler, AKA Head of Kids Programming. With over 50 ninjas on our Competition Team as well as all of those that join us at the recreation level, his strict policy of coach respect coupled with the Team's only requirement to always provide top effort, he most definitely needs to do some wrangling.

But rest assured, the Kid's Program is thriving. The members are good, kind kiddos that just want to have fun and be a part of something important. Sideline support and encouraging words are constantly shared among both the kids and parents. With months behind us as well as in front of us in online school, the push to remove our eyes from the screens is a tough one. Having an outlet for their kids, the Warrior Tech community of parents has rallied behind our current protocols and continued to be a part of our Facility.

The unique trait of ninja is its requirement to call on both sides of the brain, marking it a popular activity to foster motor skills. And the brain, can use some positive reinforcement right now.

Insert Teacher Workdays and Track-Out - the opportunity to break away from the online education and move those bodies! Our once popular camp program has taken a hit with the education system pushing for mainly internet learning. So, we switched things up and are just offering camps during the times schools are closed; teacher workdays and track-out. This has allowed us to open "After School Ninja", a time to take that brain break and release the bent-up wiggles! Every afternoon we are here and willing to accept your budding ninjas who just need to let loose. It is a low-cost 1.5 hours with freedom to roam, explore and log some time away from the sedentary!

But hey, there is no need to just trust us on our cool digs, come on out and see for yourself. Come for that open gym, book a party or join in a class - you might even take it with one of American Ninja Warrior Junior's competitors. Oh, did we forget to mention? Yeah, two of the show's finalists train here! And so does Ellie and Caitlin, Nolan and Luke...Kids that enjoy this sport, are making friends and keeping themselves healthy - both mentally and physically! So, head on out!
